FAQ - Swim School
Who is eligible to participate in Swim School?
Swim School is for kids ages 4 to 6 by April 30th who are learning to swim and are not yet ready for Swim Team. This means they are not afraid of the water, but cannot yet swim a lap unassisted. 3 year olds can be registered for Swim School and will be added to a waitlist. The waitlist will be cleared according to availability, with preference given to children 4+ years old.
Who coaches swim school?
- Swim school is overseen by the head coach and lead swim school instructor, and run by experienced MFC coaches. These 14&up swimmers have tons of experience with swimming and are experienced swim coaches.
When are practices?
Practice times will be on Tuesdays through Fridays (no Mondays) for the following dates & times:
- May 5 - May 22 @ 3:45 - 4:15pm
- May 27 - June 19 @ 8:00 - 8:30am - OR - 5:30 - 6:00pm
- Seven weeks (28 days) of swim practice!
- No Swim Meets

What are the fees?
- $200 for the 1st swimmer, $150 for the second, $100 for the third.
Late registration begins after mid April where the cost per swimmer increases by $20.
Are there Swim Meets?
No. Swim School participants do not attend any swim meets
What if my child does not meet the minimum age?
If your child is 3 years old by April 30, 2026 and you are interested in Swim School, please register so your swimmer can be added to the waitlist. We will first accommodate all 4-6 year olds, and then admit 3 year olds if there is enough capacity in the program.
Are there uniform requirements?
Swim School participants are not required to purchase a team swim suit although they can voluntarily. Female swimmers should attend practices in a single-piece suit.
Is a swim cap required?
No, swim caps are not required but highly encouraged for swimmers with hair longer than shoulder length (its hard to swim with a bunch of hair in your face and mouth).
Refund policy
If a swimmer decides not to participate in Swim School after practice begins:
- $100 per swimmer of registration fees can be refunded if requested during the first week of swim school.
- Refund request must be sent to Swim Director by the start of the second week of swim school.
- No refunds will be awarded after this deadline
- The cost of t-shirts, swim caps and swim suits are not refundable
